Reinforcing Brewerville City Mayor Passionate Appeal

When he spoke in an exclusive interview with this paper recently, Brewerville City Mayor made a passionate appeal to the Government of Liberia (GOL), humanitarian organizations and people of goodwill to help construct a hospital in Brewerville City. Brewerville City, which  is located in Montserrado County District # 17,  according  Mr. G. Varney Curtis Sr.,  lacks hospital,  and as a result,  residents of the area find it extremely difficult to acquire better health care.

Mr. Curtis disclosed that some residents of the area, especially those from faraway places usually trek several hours to seek better medical attention outside Brewerville. Besides, the Brewerville City Mayor further disclosed that most of the houses in Brewerville do not have bathrooms, and as such, some residents of the city use nearby bushes to ease themselves.

In view of the expressed concerns, we join the Mayor Curtis in also appealing to the GOL, particularly President Johnson-Sirleaf and others to come to the aid of his people. While we genuinely acknowledge the numerous constraints of the government, we think the concerns of the people Brewerville deserve serious attention.

We are told Brewervile City has a population of over 38,000. With such a huge population, we further think that it is very important to address their expressed concerns urgently so as to bring relief to them. To this end, we again join the city mayor of Brewerville in appealing to Madam President and others to address the humanitarian concerns of the people of Brewerville.

It is our fervent hope that Madam President and others will listen and help.
