LoneStar Cell MTN Launches Three New Services

The management of LoneStar MTN has launched three new services for use by its many subscribers. Speaking at a news conference over the weekend to announce the launch of the three services, LoneStar Cell MTN through its Marketing Officer (CMO) Mr. Clement Ofori Asante, named the three services as Recharge-4-Otherz, Internet Dash and SMS-Unlimited.

Recharge-4-Otherz, he explained, is a service that allows one to recharge another LoneStar Cell MTN number.

He further explained that the service is done by simply dialing *117* scratch card PIN *recipient’s phone number, hash and send.

The Internet Dash, Mr. Asante stated, is a service which allows a LoneStar Cell MTN customer to use his/her phone to buy an internet bundle for another customer or for their tablet’s like iPads and Galaxy tabs. With this service, Mr. Asante added, all the customer needs to do is to dial *153# and send, noting, “Alternatively, one can send the kind of bundle they want, which can be daily, weekly monthly via SMS to short code 353.

Speaking of the SMS-Unlimited, the LoneStar Cell MTN CMO said, the service allows customers to buy an unlimited SMS package for a given period, especially daily, weekly or monthly. “All the customer has to do is to dial *170# then choose their preferred service. It costs US$1 for daily, US$2 weekly and US$5 for monthly,” Mr. Asante added.

For his part, the Corporate Communications Executive of the company, Dr. Laurence K. Bropleh, said the initiative is part of the “Welcome to the New World” Campaign launched recently across the markets where MTN does business.

He said the full campaign will consist of several commercials- designed to speak to MTN’s individual markets and customers, and capture the essence of each market, across Africa and the Middle East.
