Several Liberians to Benefit from Free Surgical Operations

The Supreme Islamic Assembly (SIA) of Grand Cape Mount County and the Physicians  Across  Contents in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare will conduct Hernia and Hydrocede surgical operations on 100 to 200 Liberians from the 2nd to the 15 of February 2013 free of charge.

The Hernia and Hydrocede operations will take place at the Redemption Hospital located in New Kru Town Bushrod Island, the James David Memorial Hospital situated in Neuzoe, Paynesville and the Bensonville Hospital located in Bensonville all of Montserrado County. But patients are expected to come from all parts of Liberia.   

The Supreme Islamic Assembly (SIA) is a local non-governmental organization operating in Liberia, while the Physicians Across Contents (PAC) is an organization working under the Muslims world league based in Saudi Arabia in the field of medical charity, helping people all over the world with highly qualified doctors and medical teams and training physicians inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad.

The PAC is expected to arrive in Liberia on February 1, 2013 and depart the country on February 15, 2013.  The medical team  consists of ten members. All necessary arrangements have been concluded with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to provide adequate facility to ease the work of the visiting team of PAC. While in the country, PAC is expected to meet with Vice President Joseph N. Boakai and his wife, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, the Muslim Council of Liberia, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Finance, the Group of 77 Disabled Center, the ES Grant Mental Hospital Administration and cross section of organizations operating in Liberia.

It is expected that Liberians will make maximum use of the visit of the medical team in order to get cured from the defect of Hernia and Hydrocede.

Meanwhile, the SIA of Grand Cape Mount Count is again calling on all Liberians irrespective of tribe, religion and all other differences to join hands with the SIA, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the Physicians Across Continents to make this visit a success.
