SOGOM Harvest Hosts 18-Member US Delegation

An Eighteen Man Delegation from the Harvest Bible Chapel, West Olive and Granger in the United States has arrived in the country as guest of the Servant of God Mission Harvest Liberia (SOGOM Harvest).

According to the host pastor and Overseer of the SOGOM Harvest Liberia, Pastor Moses Wheigar, while in the country, the team will carry out various biblical training and teachings in Monrovia and conduct similar training at one of SOGOM Harvest local churches in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

Pastor Wheigar said, the delegation will conduct family life conference with the aimed at providing biblical teachings relating to marriage and also offered eldership training to some of its members to prepare them serve the church as elders.

He disclosed that through the assistance of the church in America, the church in Liberia is presently carrying on the construction of a three story building that will eventually play host to a school and a training center for pastors. The host pastor also disclosed that when the school building is completed, it would offered education at a most reasonable fees for the less fortunate in the Liberian society

Pastor Wheigar praised Harvest Bible Chapel for the levels of support given to SOGOM to enable it preach the good news about Christ the savior and to provide education to the less fortunate. The SOGOM Harvest Liberia overseer further said the visit of the team is also gear toward cementing the partnership between the churches in America and Liberia in the proclamation of God’s words and to build the church around the God’s people.

For his part, the head of the delegation, Assistant Pastor of Harvest West Oliver, Todd Hostetter, said the most important reason of their visit to Liberia is to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ to the people of Liberia. Assistant Pastor Hostetter said in February 2008 God touched the heart of the church in the US to proclaim his name in Liberia.

The head of delegation said the main focus of their visit is to assist Pastor Moses Wheigar install elders in the church and to speak in the lives of families. He urged Liberians to always keep on seeking the face of God in all of their undertakings as a nation and commended Liberians for the level of development taking place in the country.

Also speaking , the Senior Pastor of Harvest Granger and the lead facilitator of the Family Life Conference, Pastor. Trent Griffith, said relationship with Jesus Christ is all about love, sacrifice and commitment, adding all of these attributes constitute what Biblical Marriage means.

Pastor Griffith noted that the family live Conference will focus on encouraging marriage to last, and the prominence of marriage, but it will also look at those things that destroy marriage like sin, selfishness and immorality.

These negative vices according to Pastor Griffith, do not only destroy families, but also create a terrible environment for children to grow up in with uncertainty and insecurity. He said the reason for which the church has decided to focus on family is that strong family creates a strong church and nation.
Members of the eighteen man delegation include, Pastor Todd Hostetter, Wendy Hostetter, Caden Hostetter, Jason Steele, Katie Steele, Hayleigh Thurkettle, Elizabeth Mcmains, Donna Kamps , Edward Schoenleber, Christine Schoenleber, Matthew Hansen and Katelyn Hansen representing Harvest West Oliver, while Pastor Trent Griffith, Darrin Green, Christina Green, Stephen Gundy, Matthew Ernsperger and Douglas Niemeyer all of Harvest Granger.

The present delegation is the biggest since SOGOM Harvest Liberia started receiving guests from Harvest Bible Chapel in the USA.

The coming of the delegation is a tradition between SOGOM Harvest Liberia and Harvest Bible Chapel in fulfillment of the partnership that is existing between the SOGOM Harvest Liberia and Harvest Bible Chapel in the United States of America.
