Chinese Embassy Identifies With Several Organizations

The Government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) through it Embassy near Monrovia has identified with several organizations in the country. The organizations are:  the Sirleaf Market Women’s Fund, ELWUO Orphanage& and Children’s Welfare Center, the Group of 77 Disabled Home, the Presbyterian Todee Mission School and the Liberia Market Women Association.

The donated items included:  Tailoring machines, 400 Kilogram (kg) of rice, electric fans, and school bags amongst others. The donation was made recently during program marking the New Year Film Reception held at the Chinese Embassy in Congo Town, outside Monrovia.

The event, the Embassy said,  was dedicated to the women and children of Liberia. Speaking at the New Year Film Reception, Chinese Ambassador, Zhao Jianhua, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to empowering women and helping children,  particularly the underprivileged in post conflict-Liberia.

 “In this year of 2012, China and Liberia’s relation has been further enhanced, our political and mutual trust has been deepened, our economic cooperation has been expanded, and people to people contacts have been strengthened. Therefore, I can guarantee you that China will continue to be a reliable partner in 2013, to supporting Liberian women and children,” he said.

He pointed that his government cares for the Liberian people and the continued collaboration with organizations, which are dedicated to improving women and children’s welfare, is a demonstration of the love China has for the Liberia. The Chinese envoy noted  that  it is more important for both countries to uphold the spirit, that is, to support women and children for better future.

He lauded the Liberian government for the level of cooperation between the two countries. For their part, the beneficiaries  lauded the Government and people of China through its ambassador for  identifying with them, especially during this festive season.
