Several win Western Union back to school promotion

Over 70 persons have won the “Back To School Promotion” raffle draw of Western Union in Liberia. The transparent draw took placed on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Monrovia City Hall. It was held in the presence of representatives of the Liberia National Lotteries, Students, Banking Institutions, and Media Practitioners, amongst others.

The lucky winners of the raffle draw are from in and out of the capital, Monrovia. The prizes won are: 50 consolation prizes and 10 grand prizes which include school materials, mini-laptop computers, and US$300 scholarships. Speaking during the draw, the Media Officer of Western Union Mr. Armah Pabai said raffle draw was played at several banking institutions in the country.

He named the banks as Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI), First International Bank (FIBANK), Guaranty Trust (GT) Bank, International Bank (IB) and the United Bank of Africa (UBA). He pointed out that both senders and receivers of money through Western Union participated in the draw. Mr. Pabai noted that the raffle draw was Western union “own way of giving back to its customers.”

He said Western Union recognizes efforts being made by parents in trying to get schooling materials for their children during this time. He further disclosed that the “lucky winners will be contacted via mobile phone to receive their prestigious awards.”

Meanwhile, some of the winners include: Mohammed Syllah, Helena Paegar, Alieu Sall, Ross Mitchell, Lilian Gompa,and  Betty Conneh. Others are: Moses Doubouyou, Benky Wollie, Bekai, Kollie and Christopher Kollie, amongst others.
